Uganda To Block Unregistered Sim-cards come 28th Feb.

For over a year now sim-card registration has been going on in the country as required by Uganda Communications Commission ( UCC ). But the questions remain shall we beat the “feb 28th deadline” ? Will UCC really block unregistered subscribers?. The answers remain NO!. UCC has always brought such policies but havent done much to use them for example Counterfait phones were supposed to be switched off in november 2012 but nothing happened. All Television stations were to go digital by december 2012 but we still have analog and i think its going to be the same case with sim card registration. Imagine people who registered last year havent had their information entered in UCC’s data base, a report by a local newspaper said over 2 million people had not registered their sim cards and we only have days to go. UCC should stop wasting tax payers money and start implementing these policies.
